From South Florida Airwaves to the Digital Studio: Announcing My New Online Voice Over Company!

After years of lending my voice to the airwaves and beyond, I'm thrilled to announce the launch of my brand-new online voice over company! This venture is the culmination of a lifelong passion for connecting with audiences through sound, and I can't wait to bring my experience and versatility to a wider range of projects.

For many years, you might have heard my voice echoing across the South Florida radio landscape. I had the privilege of serving as a familiar voice for News, Weather, and Traffic on legendary stations like 610 AM WIOD and 740 AM WINZ. Those early days honed my ability to deliver information clearly, concisely, and with an authoritative yet approachable tone.

My journey in voice work didn't stop there. I also had the incredible opportunity to be part of the pioneering days of CBS Sportsline Radio, where I lent my voice to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. It was an exciting time to be at the intersection of sports and digital media, and it further expanded my range and adaptability.

Beyond the airwaves, you've likely encountered my voice in places you might not even realize! From the welcoming prompts of major companies' telephone systems to various other broadcast spaces, my voice has been a trusted guide and communicator. This diverse experience has given me a deep understanding of how to tailor my delivery to suit a multitude of needs, whether it's for a corporate explainer, a retail advertisement, or an engaging e-learning module.

And for those who might remember a slightly different side of my radio career, I also had the unique pleasure of hosting a four-hour daily show on 99.9 KISS FM and 1380 AM WLVS, where I delved into the soulful world of all-gospel Elvis Presley music. This experience, while seemingly niche, further developed my ability to connect with an audience on an emotional level and infuse passion into my delivery.

Now, with my new online voice over company, I'm excited to leverage this rich background to offer high-quality, professional voice over services to clients everywhere. Whether you need a warm and friendly narration, a clear and authoritative corporate read, an energetic commercial, or a calming voice for an IVR system, I bring a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for bringing your words to life.

Stay tuned for more details on my services and how we can collaborate to make your next project truly stand out. I'm eager to embark on this new chapter and continue to connect with the world, one voice over at a time!

Building the Airwaves at Lynn: The Story of WLYN 96.1 FM

Building the Airwaves at Lynn: The Story of WLYN 96.1 FM

Before the digital studios and online reach, there was the exhilarating, often chaotic, and always memorable world of college radio. And for me, one of the most defining experiences was the creation of WLYN 96.1 FM at Lynn University in Boca Raton. It was a journey fueled by passion, powered by a dedicated team, and a truly formative chapter in my broadcasting career.

Starting a radio station from scratch is no small feat, especially on a college campus. We began with a vision: to give Lynn University its own unique voice, a platform for student creativity, and a genuine alternative to the mainstream. From navigating FCC regulations to building studios out of what felt like spare parts, every step was a learning experience. But the energy and excitement were palpable, and soon, WLYN 96.1 FM was live!

We quickly found ourselves in friendly, yet fierce, competition with our neighbors down the road – FAU's radio station. This rivalry pushed us to be better, more innovative, and more connected with our audience. It fueled our desire to carve out our own identity, focusing on a sound that truly resonated with the Lynn University student body.

One of the proudest aspects of WLYN was the sheer talent we cultivated. I had the privilege of training over 30 different voice talents, many of whom had never stepped foot in a radio studio before. We taught them everything from proper mic technique and show prep to developing their on-air personalities and understanding the flow of a broadcast. It was incredibly rewarding to watch these raw talents blossom into confident, engaging broadcasters.

Our sound was distinctly 90s alternative, a deliberate choice to set us apart and reflect the musical tastes of our generation. I vividly remember some of our opening songs: the raw energy of The Smashing Pumpkins, the industrial punch of Filter, and the independent spirit of bands like Pavement, Dinosaur Jr., and Liz Phair. We curated playlists that were a genuine reflection of the era's vibrant indie rock scene, giving listeners something they couldn't find anywhere else on the dial.

And, of course, no morning show would be complete without a fantastic co-host. I was incredibly fortunate to share the microphone with my good friend, Dave Matthews, on our morning drive. We bounced off each other with a natural chemistry, tackling everything from campus news and current events to ridiculous listener calls and, of course, spinning the best independent rock tracks to kickstart the day. Our goal was to be informative, entertaining, and just a little bit irreverent – a true reflection of college life.

WLYN 96.1 FM was more than just a radio station; it was a community. It was a place where students could express themselves, discover new music, and learn the ropes of broadcasting from the ground up. The lessons learned, the friendships forged, and the pure joy of being on air during those years at Lynn University remain some of my most cherished memories. It was a testament to what a group of dedicated individuals, armed with a passion for radio, can achieve.

The Unsung Heroes of Hold: My Journey in On-Hold Messaging

It all begins with an idea.

Before the bright lights of South Florida radio, there was a unique and incredibly formative chapter in my voice over career: working for a company in Fort Lauderdale that specialized in on-hold, "while you wait" entertainment messages. It was a world of precision, endless loops, and surprisingly, a brush with rock and roll royalty.

This was a few years before I truly dove into News, Weather, and Traffic for major South Florida radio stations like WIOD and WINZ. Looking back, that time in the on-hold messaging industry provided some of the best experience I ever got with my voicing talent. It was a masterclass in clarity, pacing, and delivering a consistent message, all while keeping a captive audience engaged.

What made this experience so unique, and frankly, a bit wild, was the technology of the time. This was long before digital audio workstations and instant uploads. Everything we did was edited on tape reels. Imagine splicing and dicing tiny segments of magnetic tape, sometimes with a razor blade, to create seamless loops and perfect timings. It was raw, tactile, and demanded an incredible attention to detail. Every breath, every pause, every inflection had to be just right, because once that tape was duplicated and sent out, it was going to play thousands of times over.

And speaking of interesting collaborations, during my time there, I actually worked alongside a member of the band for Marilyn Manson. South Florida in the 90s was a hotbed for diverse musical talent, and it was fascinating to see how different creative minds approached the craft of audio, whether it was for shocking industrial rock or soothing on-hold messages. The dedication to sound, however, was a common thread.

Today, if you've ever called just about any of the many Ford Dealerships in the Midwest United States, there's a very good chance you've heard my voice. From welcoming messages to details about service specials and new models, my voice has been guiding callers through their wait times for years. It's a testament to the longevity of those early recordings and the foundational skills I developed in that Fort Lauderdale studio.

That period, working with antiquated (by today's standards) but effective technology, taught me invaluable lessons about voice control, script interpretation, and the subtle art of keeping listeners engaged even when they're simply waiting on the phone. It was a grind, but it laid the groundwork for everything that came next in my broadcast journey. And it's a reminder that sometimes, the most unexpected detours can lead to the most valuable experiences.

Blog Post Title Four

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
